He joined the firm as a staff accountant upon his graduation from college in June 1969. The firm continued as Halsted, Corey & Company upon the retirement of Karl Blomquist in September 1969.

Jim served as a partner in the national firm from July 1986 through October 1, 1988, at which time he formed his own practice as a sole practitioner.

In January 1994, Jim joined with Harold L. Brunacini, CPA, in the firm of James W. Vanstrom & Company. Together, he and Harold have continued their strong commitment to serving the needs of the firm’s clients. In addition, Jim continues to perform and supervise various accounting and auditing engagements, as well as provide consulting services to various clients. Jim is also responsible for the overall management of the firm.

Jim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Buffalo Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
